Play-Based Foundation
Play is central to my training approach. It increases motivation, builds engagement, and helps dogs enjoy the behaviors themselves — creating stronger, more reliable obedience.
Balanced Approach
I use all four quadrants of operant conditioning appropriately and fairly. This allows me to motivate behaviors, build reliability, reduce unwanted behaviors, and create clarity for the dog.
Behavior Change, Not Just Suppression
I don't aim to simply stop behaviors. I work to change how the dog feels about triggers, build alternative behaviors, develop confidence and self-control, and reduce reliance on constant external rewards.
Owner Preference
If an owner prefers purely positive methods, I can accommodate that preference. My focus is always clarity, fairness, and the long-term emotional well-being of the dog.
The Balanced Approach
Using all four quadrants of operant conditioning allows me to create a comprehensive training plan that addresses each dog’s unique needs:
Motivate Behaviors
Encouraging desired actions through positive reinforcement and play
Build Reliability
Creating consistent responses in various environments and situations
Reduce Unwanted Behaviors
Addressing problem behaviors fairly and effectively
Create Clarity
Helping your dog understand exactly what is expected
My Focus Areas
- Change how the dog feels about triggers
- Build alternative behaviors
- Reduce reliance on constant external rewards
- Develop confidence and self-control
My goal is lasting behavioral change and a better relationship between dog and owner.
Training Philosophy
and training should reflect that. Whether your dog needs confidence building, behavior
rehabilitation, or advanced obedience training, I create a personalized plan that works for you both.
